TREK BREAK-UP ARRIVAL

DAY 1     

Visit to IHBT, Palampur and Ayurvedic Collage, Paprola. Night Halt at Palampur

Institute of Himalayan Biorsource Technology (IHBT), Palampur, a national CSIR Lab. Unit is one of the prestegiceous institute focusing on the conservation & promotion of Himalayan biodiversity including medicinal & aromatic plants.
At a distance of 14 Kms. from Palampur, the only State Ayurvedic college is situated at Paprola imparting UG & PG quality education in the field of Ayurveda. The campus is beautiful and worth to visit.

DAY 2

Visit to Tea gardens at Bajnath Afterward Visit to Herbal Garden & Herbarium, Joginder Nagar. Night stay at Palampur

Baijnath is a beautiful small town of Himachal Pradesh situated in the foot hills of Dhauladhar, a western Himalayn range of District Kangra, famous of the historical Shiva temple constructed in the ninth centenary. It is the base point for conducting the trekking in Chhota & Bara Bhangal. The lushgreen tea garden adds the beauty to the place.
Joginder Nagar is situated in the foothills of Himalayas and one of the oldest town of District Mandi. It was the local market of Herbal raw drugs of Barot , Lohardi & Thaltookhot areas, also a big market of seed potato. The town is the last destination of Toy Train run in-between Pathankot-Jogindernagar. Now it famous for the first Hydroelectric power generation project, constructed in 1929. Jogindernagar is also famous for unique Medicinal Plants herbarium & Herbal Garden run by the AYUSH department of H.P. Visiting here one can view the herbal wealth of the state maintained systematically and also a herbal garden has also been established where more than 250 species of different medicinal plants are being grown.

 

DAY 3

Day 3 visit to Dharmsala-Meclodganj Buddhist Monastry-Headquarter of his highness Dalailama & Departure to Chamba. night Halt at Chamba

 

 

Dharamsala is famous hill station situated just beneath the Dhauladhar mountain and well connected with road & air transport. Nearest air port is Gaggal about 18 Kms. from Dharamsala. Being the Head Quarter of His Highness Dalailama, the religious supreme of Tibet at Meclodganj at 10 Kms. from Dharamsala, tourist from all over the world visit the place. Near Meclodganj at Bhagsoonag, is a beautiful place to visit. Recently Dharamsala has also got famous for the Cricket stadium built at highest altitude in the country where IPL-3 matches were played

 

DAY 4

Day 4 Visit to Mani-Sagnahar High atitude medicinal plant nursery. Night stay at Mani

 

 

At a distance of 20 Kms. at Mani, Forest department has developed an Herbal park-cum-nursery of some selected sps. Of Medicinal plants at an altitude of 7,000 ft. msl. The place has a thick cover of Devdar forest and worthy to visit

 

DAY 5

Visit to Beragharh-Devikothi-Kalaban forests area. Night Halt at Tisa-Bhanjradoo

 

 

Tisa-Beragarh-Sachpass is a paradise for trekkers and medicinal plants lovers. The trek is about 100 Kms. And Tisa is about 60 Kms. from Chamba. In winter heavy snow fall occurs and in summer the pastors and meadows wear green cover and are the natural habitats of high vale medicinal plants species. . Well linked with road Transport.

 

DAY 6

Visit to Salooni-Dandh-Bhandal forest area. Night Halt at Salooni-Chamba

 

 

Salooni is one of the spectacular location in Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, about 45 Kms. From Chamba. Salooni-Sanghni-Langera is a small narrow valley with varying elevations covered with Himalayan conifers under which a large variety of temperate medicinal plants grow naturally. The forest sites are approachable and linked with road transport.

 

DAY 7

Visit to Jot-Khajiar-Dhalouje forest areas. Night Halt at Dhalouje.

Khajiar is a famous hill station and known as a mini Switzerland of India. It has a large alpine meadow surround by thick temperate forest. Similarly Dhalouje is also well known hill station since British time. Here the forest is very vast and rich in temperate plants diversity.
