Himachal Pradesh is one of that destination where
the flora and fauna is greatly influenced by the
presence of Himalaya. In the state we have different
types of Ago-climatic conditions and accordingly
there are large number of Medicinal and Aromatic
plants grow naturally in the respective zones. As
per the survey conducted by the different
organizations like BSI, Deharadun; FRI, Deharadun;
State universities and Other Research Institutions,
there are about 3,000 different species of
Angiosperms are reported to be found in the state in
the different Ago-climatic zones and habitat. More
than 800 odd species are found to possess medicinal
and aromatic properties, out of which about 150
species are considered to be highly valuable as the
basic raw material is derived from these plants for
the manufacturing of many herbal products including
the Ayurvedic drugs. This various parts of the
plants form the basic raw material which may be in
form of Root drug, Stem drug,. Bark drug,. Leaf
drug, Flower drug, Fruit drug, Seed drug o rwhole

case of aromatic plants volatile oils are extracted

of the Agro-climatic zones of the Himachal Pradesh
variously keeping in view of the macro and micro
climatic and topographical factors such as rainfall
specially monsoon, altitude or snow line influencing
the local climate of the respective zone, but under
